The school council
“You are never too small to make a difference.” Greta Thunberg
At Thomas Russell Infants’ School we are proud to have a School Council which allows all children to have a voice and feel as though their opinions make a difference. It is important for everybody at our school to have their voice heard.
In the Autumn Term, each Reception and Year One classes nominate one child to represent them. Year Two have two representatives from each class usually a girl and a boy. The children involved in the School Council will participate for a full year in their role. This helps everyone to learn about democracy and the importance of having the right to vote.
Through our School Council, important issues are raised, ideas are shared and further developments are made to enhance the daily lives of everybody in the school.
