Our P.T.A is a group consisting of parents, family members, staff and governors who are very proud of our school. We aim to support, demonstrate and promote the school values and try to build a wider school family.
One of the things we do is to raise money to benefit all of the children in the school and we are a registered charity. But for us there is more to it - we want to help new parents settle in and meet other parents, so as well as fun events for the children we also like to plan events for the grown-ups too, and also events for our families to attend and enjoy together. We want families from outside and within the village to be and feel part of the school community.
There are lots of ways to get involved in the P.T.A. If you are able to come along to our planning meetings that is great, and the dates and venues can be found on the school calendar on this website. But you can help from home too. We understand that many people have young children and/or work and therefore feel that they aren’t able to offer much help, but there are all sorts of P.T.A. jobs and tasks to dish out throughout the year so any help offered will always be very much appreciated. If you think you could spare some time, please do contact us so we can let you know the sort of things we need help with.
How we support the school
Every year the money we raise pays for:
* the coaches for the annual Christmas pantomime trip and subsidises the tickets
* buys the school branded book bags issued to all new children
* we work with the school canteen to provide an amazing Christmas lunch experience for the children and staff
* an Easter hunt and Year 2 leavers party and much more
In addition, we support the school with funds based on current need, which for some time has been money towards renewing iPads and laptops for all classes, new maths resources and other equipment that is used by the children in both their indoor and outdoor learning.
What sort of things do we organise?
The Christmas and summer fayre
Halloween party, Valentines disco and film nights
Gin tasting and wine tasting evenings as well as quiz and bingo nights
School calendars, Christmas cards and DVD copies of all school productions
Craft sessions and sponsored events
We are always excited to hear about new ideas so do share yours with us!
