At Thomas Russell Infants’ School we are proud to have a School Council which allows all children to have a voice and feel as though their opinions make a difference. It is important for everybody at our school to have their voice heard.
In the Autumn Term, each Reception and Year One classes nominate one child to represent them. Year Two have two representatives from each class usually a girl and a boy. The children involved in the School Council will participate for a full year in their role.
Through School Council important issues are raised, ideas are shared and further developments are made to enhance the daily lives of everybody in the school.
How to get your ideas heard
Our School Council is led by Miss Pearson. We meet twice a month to talk about any issues that have been raised by the children. The minutes from each meeting will be uploaded here so that everybody can be kept updated with the progress of our School Council. The minutes will be taken by Year Two children who will note what has been decided and who attended.
Lots of fantastic changes have taken place already thanks to our School Council. We cannot wait to share with you further achievements of the School Council at Thomas Russell Infants’ School
